Is that a pH Scale ceiling? Indeed it is. Designed as an "active" display for the Science department at Bethnal Green Academy, students position themselves under the colour spectrum based on the chemical or everyday substance they are assigned.

For example, a student representing an acid would move from the centre towards the far end of the spectrum.

If you look carefully, you can also spot the Periodic Lockers - a periodic table fashioned from the grid of student lockers lining the walls of the faculty's corridors.

Periodic Lockers - why should locker fronts be considered "dead space"? Especially if they're in your Science department. This simple idea transformed the corridor into an active learning environment. The natural grid gave rise to the idea of overlaying the periodic table.

The ideas don't stop there... look out for my pH scale ceiling tiles too!

I'm sure most teachers will recognise this classic visual metaphor but has it ever looked so tasty?

The PEE Burger models sentence structure for writing a convincing argument.

Nice little postcard idea for the good people at Teach First. If you make it through your first half term at an under achieving, inner city school then you are most definitely a hero.
